7 pet-friendly places in Manila for your Valentine’s day doggy date

Are you one of the many people who are dreading the heavy traffic, crowded restaurants, bouquets of roses, sappy surprises, and lovey-dovey couples that will be all over your school, office, social media – basically everywhere – on February 14?

There, there.

But if you got a loyal and loving dog, who needs a boyfriend (or a girlfriend)?

Spend Valentine’s day with your special furry friend in these pet-friendly places because doggy dates always guarantee a happy ending.

1. Whole Pet Kitchen

If you’re the type who likes romantic dinners, head to Whole Pet Kitchen Pet Deli & Bark-ery in San Juan. This restaurant caters to both pets and humans so you and your furry friend can share a dinner (or lunch) for two in one table. You got that right! Your pets get to sit in a chair that’s made especially for them and eat at the same table as you do. Just prepare to be stared at with big puppy eyes while you eat your BLT sandwich. The food is so good, dogs can finish their meals in less than a minute!

2. Unna’s Corner

Have you and your pet been together long enough so you prefer a more relaxed date? Then Unna’s Corner is your place. This homey cafe at Paseo de Magallanes serves shakes, healthy salads, sandwiches, and entertainment by Unna the pug. Spend V Day with the most important furry creature in your life lounging around the cozy sofas over a cup of warm cappuccino.

3. Frosted Desserts

Here’s another cafe that offers food for humans and pets alike. The owners of Frosted Desserts are the same people behind Barkin’ Bakes Healthy Pet Treats. So, your dog can enjoy healthy and vet-consulted treats and pastries while you munch on cupcakes and fish sticks. What a sweet, sweet date!

4. Estancia Mall and Park

A lot of malls are pet-friendly but not all of them are that pet-friendly. If you want a carefree doggy date without having to carry your babies in a bag or push them in a stroller, go to Estancia Mall in Pasig City. Here, your dog can freely stroll with you. You can also grab a dinner at any of the restaurants without worrying about leaving your dog behind. And when you and your dog are tired of window shopping, head out to the park to enjoy some play time.

5. Bark Central Dog Park and Cafe

Does your dog have an active lifestyle a.k.a. can’t sit still in one place? Put that energy to good use and go on a doggy playdate at Bark Central Dog Park and Cafe. Your dog can run around the indoor park, dive in a ball pit, and go through the mini obstacle course while you can grab a nice cup of coffee. And the best part? You can socialize and play with other dogs, too! What better way to celebrate Valentine’s day? I can’t think of any.

6. Ascott Makati

We know that no matter how much time we have with our dogs, it will never be enough. So, why spend Valentine’s for a day when you can celebrate it overnight? There are only a few pet-friendly hotels in Metro Manila and we’re glad there’s one in Makati. Ascott Hotel welcomes furry members of the family. You just need to reach out first to the hotel, sign and fill out papers and get approval from the management and you’re all good. Ask them how through their online chat service.

7. Joy Nostalg Hotel & Suites

Here’s another pet parent-approved hotel to go on a staycation with your dog (and/or cat!). Relax and unwind with your furry best friend at Joy Nostalg Hotel & Suites in Ortigas. Enjoy room service, go on a movie marathon of Beverly Hills Chihuahua, Beethoven, 101 Dalmatians, and The Secret Life of Pets, and receive an unlimited amount of sweet kisses and cuddles.

These may be pet-friendly places but remember to always be a responsible pet owner. Pick up after your pets. Make sure their vaccines are updated to keep them and other dogs they might interact with safe and sound.

So, if you still think you’re a member of the lonely hearts club, think again. Every time you’re sad, just look at your dog, give them a hug, and right then and there, you will know how true love feels like.

  1. Hello ,

I saw your tweet about animals and thought I will check your website. I like it!

I love pets. I have two beautiful thai cats called Tammy(female) and Yommo(male). Yommo is 1 year older than Tommy. He acts like a bigger brother for her. 🙂
I have even created an Instagram account for them ( https://www.instagram.com/tayo_home/ ) and probably soon they will have more followers than me (kinda funny).

I wanted to subscribe to your newsletter, but I couldn’t find it. Do you have it?

Keep up the good work on your blog.

    Regards

    1. Hi, Wiki!

Thank you so much for reaching out. I checked out Tammy and Yommo’s Instagram account – they are so adorable! They will definitely be gaining a new follower in me.

As for the newsletter, we just launched Daily Snout last week so we don’t have a newsletter as of the moment but we are working on it.

      Thank you again for visiting!
